Gary Brown and family made the move to the Keweenaw in 2011 after accepting the position of Production Manager for the Rozsa Center for the Performing Arts. While living in New York, Gary taught Lighting Design and Technology at NYU for over 10 years.
Outside of the university setting, Gary has designed the off-Broadway theater production of Siciliano with the National Theater Workshop of the Handicapped (NTWH). He has also designed for summer stock, as well as, regional theaters, rock shows, and many state fairs.
Gary has worked on Tommy; the musical version of Two Gentlemen of Verona at the Abrons Arts Center in New Your City; and Sweeney Todd, Winter’s Tale, and Company at the Skirball Auditorium on the NYU campus.
Some of the coolest productions Gary has worked on include A History of Tears written by Micheal Cerveris; Youth In Asia by Steven Drunketh; and A Map of the World directed by Robert Moss.
Gary is very excited about working with the Rock Camp, his first time doing so, and is promising an spectacular light show for the final concert.
